Description: The Richmond Local Municipality is a Category B municipality found within the uMgungundlovu District in the KwaZulu-Natal Province. It is located along the southern boundary of the uMgungundlovu District Municipality, approximately 38km south of Pietermaritzburg (the capital of KwaZulu-Natal) along the R56. It is one of the seven municipalities that make up the district. The municipality has been classified as a place of great natural beauty with significant tourist attractions and immense aspirations to be the preferred destination to live, work and visit. Main Economic Sectors: Community services (33%), finance (20%), transport (12%), trade (13%), construction (4%), electricity (7%), manufacturing (15%), mining (1%), agriculture (3%).
