Description: The Langeberg Local Municipality (previously Breede River/Winelands Local Municipality) is a Category B municipality located within the Cape Winelands District Municipality in the Western Cape Province. The municipality is bordered by Breede Valley in the north and west and by the Overberg District in the south and east. It is one of the five municipalities that make up the district, accounting for almost a quarter of its geographical area. Main Economic Sectors: Agriculture (8.7%), mining (1.6%), manufacturing (29.9%), trade (11.13%), finance (17.9%), electricity (1.6%), construction (8.6%), transport (7.8%), general government (7.1%), community and social services (6.8%).
